Roar and Explore Baby Dino School Workshop

Bring the Magic of Dinosaurs to Your Early Years Classroom!

Our Roar and Explore Baby Dino School Workshop is specially crafted for nursery, preschool, and reception children. We combine sensory play, interactive storytelling, and gentle hands-on encounters to introduce your little paleontologists to the prehistoric world in a safe, completely age-appropriate way.

Through physical movement, fun sounds, and real fossil handling, we spark curiosity and support early years development goals (EYFS) across communication, physical development, and understanding the world.

  • Target Age Group: Nursery, EYFS, & Reception (Ages 2–5)
  • Duration: Flexible sessions to fit your school timetable (30 to 45-minute slots recommended for early years attention spans).

Please Note: This specialized workshop is exclusively aimed at local schools and early years settings near Stansted Airport, Essex. By focusing on our local area, we are able to minimize travel times and keep our booking prices as low as possible for your school.

Interactive Puppets

Children will get up close and personal with our wonderfully realistic, friendly baby dinosaur puppets. Through gentle handling and immersive prehistoric storytelling, we bring these ancient creatures to life in a way that delights without scaring your little learners.

Session Timing & Add-ons

Core workshops run for 30 to 40 minutes to perfectly suit EYFS attention spans. You can tailor your day with optional extras like our dinosaur bean bag game, interactive digs, or extra models. These add-ons extend session times and incur additional costs, with full details provided upon enquiry.

What to Expect During the Session

We keep our early years sessions fast-paced, highly physical, and sensory-focused to match the natural learning styles and attention spans of younger children. A typical session includes:

1. The Meet & Greet
A gentle, magical introduction to our friendly, realistic baby dinosaur puppets (safely managed so no one gets scared!).
2. Prehistoric Storytelling
An interactive tale packed with fun sounds, expressions, and easy actions that the whole class can join in with.
3. The Fossil Sensory Dig
Hands-on exploration where children use their senses to feel, inspect, and “dig” for genuine fossil specimens.
4. The “Stomp, Chomp & Roar” Movement
Burn off some energy by mimicking dinosaur behavior—stretching like a long-neck, stomping like a triceratops, and practicing our best roars!

Curriculum & EYFS Benefits

Our workshops are thoughtfully designed to seamlessly tie into the Early Years Foundation Stage framework:

  • 🦖 Communication & Language
Enriching vocabularies with descriptive textures (bumpy, smooth, heavy, sharp) and practicing focused active listening.
  • 🦕 Physical Development
Developing gross motor skills through coordinated roleplay movements and fine motor controls during fossil handling.
  • 🌋 Understanding the World
Sparking early scientific curiosity about the natural world, textures, prehistoric life, and changes over time.

Workshop Requirements

To ensure your early years students get the absolute most out of their dinosaur adventure, we ask for the following setup arrangements:

Space Required: A school hall, large cleared classroom, or a spacious indoor EYFS unit where children have room to safely stomp and move around during the physical roleplay.

Tables Needed: 2 or 3 standard classroom tables cleared and ready for us to set out the sensory fossil discovery trays.

Setup & Pack Down: We need access 30–45 minutes before your first session and 20 minutes at the end. Exact timings depend on how close your parking is to the hall, which we will discuss upon enquiry to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Pricing & Availability

Because this specialized 40-minute format allows for highly flexible scheduling, we can offer custom pricing based on your school day layout:

  • Single Session Booking: Ideal for smaller standalone nursery settings or individual classes.
  • Multiple Back-to-Back Sessions: Best value for multi-form entry schools where multiple Reception or Nursery cohorts want to experience the workshop across a morning or full school day.
